The Limited Release wines have been produced to honour the family members who most inspired Trevor and Mary along their path of life. They have been created by our Winemaker, Coby, from carefully selected fruit in the Chardonnay block and from select barriques at the winery. The wines are traditionally cork sealed.
All 3 wines have been carefully and patiently crafted by our award winning winemaker, Coby Ladwig. The two red wines taken from the most outstanding barrel samples of the 2016 vintage while the Chardonnay from the best sections of the Chardonnay block.
Dickinson Estate Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon
Agnes or “Nan” as she was known to us all, was the original family matriarch. Nan raised 7 of her own children and her Christmas family gatherings were always a joyous time. Nan worked tirelessly for 53 years producing racing “Colours”, the silks worn by jockeys of racehorses. She reflected that once when she attended a race meeting in Melbourne, all but one jockey in a field of 18 were wearing “colours” that she had made. Agnes was a very proud and accomplished woman. Nan passed away at 99 years.
The 2018 Dickinson Estate Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon is dedicated to Agnes. A bouquet of black currants and sweet spice. The palate has cherry, chocolate and a firm tannin structure resulting in a long and persistent finish.
Dickinson Estate Limited Release Chardonnay
A grand lady and matriarch of the Dickinson family since 1985.
Bonnie passed away peacefully in May 2017, just 5 weeks shy of her 98th birthday. Bonnie lived a very happy and fulfilling life and left behind a proud family with beautiful memories.
The 2018 Dickinson Estate Limited Release Chardonnay is dedicated to Bonnie. A fresh bouquet of nectarines and peaches, paired with a small amount of barrel ferment characters to add complexity while flavours of citrus and cashews swirl around the palate to give a long flavoursome finish.
Dickinson Estate Limited Release Shiraz
A clever and humourous man who proudly served his country during the second World War as a crew member of a Lancaster aircraft in England. He returned after the War and raised 4 beautiful children (of course).
The 2016 Dickinson Estate Limited Release Shiraz is dedicated to Laurie. Deeply coloured with a complex bouquet of black fruits, spices and French oak. The medium bodied palate closely tracking the bouquet and adding soft, ripe tannins.
